It is the wood of the Ebon tree that grows in southern India and Sri Lanka and sporadically in areas of Africa. The tree of the eve is of the same family as the lotus. The wood of the eve has a deep black color, dense in its structure and it’s heavy. It’s one of the few woods that sinks into the water. Due to its density, it can work and carve out with tools of goldsmithing, and give very good results.
